Erika Mancini

Individual Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Erika Mancini is a BACP registered Counsellor with a Masters degree in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.

Erika’s therapeutic approach is Transactional Analysis, the principles of which regard every person with worth, dignity, inner potential for growth and capacity to change. This approach develops from Humanistic and Psychoanalytic theories and it regards the therapeutic relationship as a means to support people to achieve changes.

Erika believes that unaddressed, early experiences of hurt and misattunement, can sometimes lead us to repeat the same defeating patterns in adult life that prevent us from living in a more fulfilling way. She helps her client to make links and recognize patterns or repetitions in their behaviour so that they can learn new ways of relating to themselves and others.

Erika holds the belief that counselling and psychotherapy can be helpful not only to work on difficulties but also to explore new possibilities for personal achievement.

As a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and registered member of the BACP, I have a wealth of experience in providing counselling in a variety of settings including the NHS, the volunteering sector and in private practice. I work with people presenting with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues.

My therapeutic approach is Transactional Analysis which is a practical approach to develop understanding of how one relates to oneself and others. When used in therapy, Transactional Analysis can address a person’s communications and interactions with the goal of developing and strengthening the belief that every person has value and can achieve personal growth and positive change.

I offer support to individuals working on their relationships with their partners, colleagues and important others towards helping to identify patterns and modes of communication and behaviours. We work towards the taking up of responsibility for our own choices and actions and alongside working through the best way to resolve the complexities and issues that keep presenting themselves that often result in a feeling of stuckness.

I believe unaddressed experiences of hurt and misattunement can lead us to repeat the same defeating patterns in adult life which in turn can prevent us from living in a more gratifying way. Counselling and psychotherapy can be helpful not only to work on difficulties but also to explore new possibilities towards personal achievement.

Patterns and repetitive behaviour, choices and situations can often become clearer. Links can be made and allocated meaning resulting in connection and understanding emerging over the course of therapy. This may help to understand oneself better and learn new ways of relating to self and to others towards a more rewarding life experience.

I am passionate about my work and love to see clients improving their life. I work with people looking for changes or willing to explore new possibilities so they can live in a more fulfilling way.

I believe the decision to take action and seek therapy is a meaningful step towards growth and wellbeing. I offer a safe, trusting, and confidential space where together we can explore the difficulties you are experiencing and work on aspects that are important to you.
