With over 20 years of experience working with families, Louise is a Couples Counsellor, Individual Therapist and Parenting Facilitator.

Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) she works psychodynamically helping individuals, couples and blended families with communication and understanding. She has also experience to work helping people in a process of divorcing and separating

Louise wide professional experience includes Parenting Programmes and Women’s Wellbeing Workshops as well as working intensively with various client groups. Louise has trained as a Psychotherapeutic counsellor and enjoys working with couples within an attachment based approach. She is trained in delivering Self-Esteem and Wellbeing courses.

Using different approaches to build on the strengths of the couple she facilitates the building of resilience by using different strategies. She uses a coaching approach to help communication and developing empathetic listening in a nurturing and emotionally focussed way.

She has worked in various settings within the Charity and Children and Families sector and has considerable knowledge on Loss and Bereavement, Parenting issues, Mental health and Addiction, Relationship issues and Childhood Trauma.

I have worked therapeutically with families as well as individuals and couples for over 20 years.

I like to incorporate warmth and empathy into the sessions and I introduce an environment where clients feel safe to open up and discuss difficult feelings.

In my approach and during the counselling sessions I seek to engage the couple in exploring their motivations within the relationship and I explore what drives them forward to either restore and repair or decide to take time out to see whether this is what they want for the future, which might also be part of the therapeutic process.

In my work I look at themes, meaning and narrative that are important and integral to any relationship focusing at understanding individual communication styles.

An experienced psychodynamic Counsellor, I am also a Social Worker and Parenting Facilitator. I incorporate the person centred and relational approach in my work.

I offer long and short term counselling both face to face and online to couples and individuals.

The sessions are a safe and contained space to talk about different experiences and feelings within the relationship without judgement. My role is to facilitate this process, so that each person and partner within the couple feels able to move towards authenticity and to focus on their relationship without the normal daily distractions.

Communication is fundamental in any relationship and forms the basis of a strong attachment which can enhance positive interaction and help the couple to understood a more empathetic style of communication.

I have worked with different client groups both individually and with Couples . I use different techniques such as the Person centred approach, Transactional Analysis , Mindfulness, Emotional Focussed approach and other tools when working with couples.

I am registered Member of the BACP and work within the ethical framework.
