I am a qualified counsellor and trained at Goldsmiths University London. Prior to Counselling I trained as a Social Worker and worked within the field of eating disorders, refugee and immigration as well as family. I have been trained within the psychodynamic framework, this means that together we will be working on identifying how your past experiences and past relationships, particularly during your childhood may have affected your current life and the issues you may be experiencing. I have gained extensive clinical experience within diverse settings such as the NHS, education, charities and private organisations and have worked with different age groups. As a result of that I have gained experience in working with a wide range of issues such as:
- Anger management
- Culture and identity
- Eating Disorders
- Low self-esteem
- Pregnancy and Postnatal depression
- Relationship issues
- Work and study related issues
I have experienced working with clients on a short-term (up to 12 sessions) and long-term basis.
Although, the modality I was trained is based on a long-term commitment in order to achieve long-lasting change, I am flexible to your needs and wishes and will be happy to discuss shorter arrangements. It is important to me that your needs are met and your wishes respected.
During our sessions we will be establishing a professional therapeutic relationship which will hopefully enable you to open up to me and allow me to gain an understanding of who you are and what brought you to counselling.
I am a native speaker of German and Farsi and am able to offer counselling in these two languages as well.
My Qualifications and Memberships:
Individual Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)
MA (Level 7) in Counselling from Goldsmiths University, London
BA in Social Work from Alice Salomon University, Berlin
Certificate/training within the field of Eating Disorders at NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association, New York)
