Jhonathan is a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and social worker, registered with the UKCP, the Association of Family Therapy and Social Work England.

With an MSc in Family therapy and a BA Hons in Social Work and Sociology, Jhonathan has approximately 40 years professional experience in social care and social work across a huge range of social groups and issues, which underpins his therapeutic practice.

He takes a strengths-based approach that emphasizes the relational; finding alternative stories of love, hope and resilience to the challenges people encounter through the course of their lives.

The diverse individuals, couples and families I support encounter a genuine, friendly and creative therapist who takes the time to understand and work collectively to develop greater insight into, and the skills to improve patterns of communication leading to more satisfying relationships.

I have experience working with couples with issues such as infertility, intercultural relationships, conflict, depression and substance misuse. As a family therapist I have also worked with Looked After Children and Care Leavers. My experience includes working with a range of themes and issues such as mental ill health, gender Identity, bereavement, adoption, fostering, therapeutic residential care, semi-independence and youth offending.
