About Holly Roberts
I am a BACP Registered Integrative Therapist with over 12 years of experience supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges, transitions, and relationship difficulties. Before establishing my private practice in 2019, I spent nearly a decade working with Relate following specialist training in couples counselling through the Relate Institute. I have also worked with organisations including One Therapy and Togetherall, supporting a diverse range of clients, including young adults, university students, and those experiencing significant emotional distress and crisis.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without fear of criticism or shame. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely seen and accepted, and when difficult experiences can be explored with curiosity and compassion rather than self-blame.
As an integrative therapist, my work draws on psychodynamic, systemic, attachment-informed, trauma-informed, person-centred, solution-focused, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and relational approaches. In 2022, I completed Compassionate Inquiry training with Dr. Gabor Maté, further deepening my understanding of trauma, attachment, and the ways our past experiences continue to shape our emotional lives and relationships. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, helping you explore patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to current difficulties.
Relationship work remains at the heart of my practice. I work with individuals, couples, and people in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, supporting a wide range of concerns including recurring conflict, communication difficulties, infidelity, emotional distance, changes in relationship dynamics, financial difficulties, sexual issues, and major life transitions For couples, I provide a balanced and supportive space where difficult conversations can take place safely, helping partners better understand themselves, one another, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
Alongside relationship work, I support people navigating the impact of childhood experiences, attachment difficulties, trauma, shame, loss, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, identity questions, and struggles with self-worth. Together, we explore the stories and experiences that have shaped you, creating opportunities for greater self-understanding, healing, and more fulfilling relationships.
Clients often tell me they feel genuinely held in mind throughout our work together. They are sometimes surprised by how much I remember about their experiences, and how this helps them feel understood, supported, and less alone as they move through the therapeutic process.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
“Therapy is like story-telling. We are bearing witness to a life journey that takes twists and turns to help someone really get to know themselves and ultimately bring compassion to the dark parts that need the most love.”
Whatever brings you to therapy, my aim is to provide a safe, compassionate, and reflective space where we can make sense of your experiences together and work towards the changes that matter most to you.
