Julia Halpin
Family, Couples and Systemic Psychotherapist
Julia is an experienced UKCP registered Family and Systemic psychotherapist and a member of the association for family therapy and works within the College of Family, Couples and Systemic Therapy.
With 35 years of working within an NHS based setting, 22 years with Child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) and 13 years as a registered mental health nurse for adult mental health, Julia has vast experience in supporting couples and families in managing anxiety, depression, conflict, self-harm, separation, bereavement, illness and trauma or when a person may be affected by ASD and/or ADHD.
Julia’s approach is collaborative, in which you work together on the goals that you are looking to achieve, in a non-judgemental, safe and supportive way to improve interaction and communication between family members.
In both family therapy and couples counselling you will together, look at the various factors that affect you and explore aspects of relationships that may have become negative and come under stress.
In providing a safe environment to talk through any challenges you can work together to identify negative interactional patterns and build on strengths, resources, resilience and new communication strategies that will promote more positive relationships and changes that are important to you.
