About Lucy Watney
As a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience, I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, families, and young people with communication issues and relationships. I have particular experience working with challenges related to neurodiversity and difficulties with marriage and parenting.
I have worked across various online and face-to-face settings, including the charity sector, voluntary services, the NHS, private practice, and schools. I bring a relational focus to all of my work, whether I am supporting individuals, couples, or families. I believe that relationships with partners, family members, friends, ourselves, and work play a vital role in our well-being. When difficulties arise, they can often be rooted in communication issues, differences in values or parenting styles, or wider breakdowns in connection.
In my work, I closely examine how community, culture, politics, and environment influence our experiences and relationships. I also have experience working with neurodivergent children, young people, and adults, recognising and valuing how people experience and interact with the world.
Throughout life, we all encounter moments that can trip us up, unsettle us, or take us off course. During these times, having a safe, non-judgmental space to reflect, process, and find a way forward can be invaluable. As a therapist, I aim to provide that space to walk alongside my clients, working collaboratively and supportively towards their goals.
Areas Lucy Watney Can Help With
Whether working together over a more extended period or focusing on a specific issue in short-term therapy, I support clients in making the changes they want to see. I believe therapy should be collaborative and empowering, helping clients identify their strengths, achieve their goals, and build a greater sense of well-being and resilience.
I offer both online and face-to-face appointments.
