About Stelios Christodoulou

I am a highly experienced and extensively trained Individual Therapist, Couples Therapist, Supervisor, and Counselling Service Coordinator with over 25 years of experience in counselling and psychotherapy. Specialising in working with couples, my practice is informed by advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach proven highly effective in helping couples addressing relational challenges. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and dedicated to the emotional well-being and growth of clients, colleagues, and the broader therapeutic community.

With specialised knowledge in relationship dynamics, I offer couples therapy that addresses a wide range of issues, such as infidelity, communication breakdowns, divorce, and the impact of mental health issues, “quiet quitting”, and addictions on relationships. I also provide therapy for workplace issues, career stress, and counselling for expatriates living abroad.

I can help with a range of issues including:

In addition to my therapeutic work, I supervise and mentor other counsellors and psychotherapists, supporting their professional development and ensuring high standards within the field. My role as a supervisor involves guiding both individual therapists and therapy groups, ensuring ethical, practical, and evidence-based practice.

My experience spans the public, voluntary, and NHS sectors, where I have gained a wealth of experience working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. I have also coordinated counselling services and facilitated therapy groups, giving me a broad understanding of diverse client needs and interventions.

This work has allowed me to develop expertise in integrative therapeutic approaches, combining Gestalt Therapy, Egan’s Skilled Helper Model, EFT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have also led psycho-educational workshops and developed group programmes to enhance therapeutic outcomes. As a registered member of the BACP, I am committed to maintaining integrity and excellence in therapeutic practice.
