As a registered member of the BACP, I have been providing counselling for 25 years including 12 years of group work experience and work in the public sector. I have worked in various settings in the voluntary sector and the NHS. At Leone Centre, I offer counselling and psychotherapy to couples and individuals. I also a counselling service coordinator, supervisor and therapy groups facilitator.
As well as being a therapist and couple counsellor, I have worked in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and also supported the training, professional development of counsellors and psychotherapists.
I originally trained in Gestalt Therapy, Egan’s skilled Helper model and Emotionally Focused Therapy and have gone on to develop an integrative way of working with couples and individuals. I have a strong working knowledge of psychodynamic therapy, Transactional Analysis, Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and in devising and delivering psycho-educational workshops and group work programmes.
Instilling a collaborative approach and striving for excellence in the support of clients, colleagues and placement students I am committed to the integrity of the therapeutic work with flexibility and experience.
My work with couples is informed by an attachment-based approach to relationship counselling. I have developed extensive knowledge and experience in supporting couples who seek help with difficulties in their relationships.
I have considerable knowledge of how addictions and mental health issues impact on couple relationships.
