About Peter Bryant
I am a dedicated EMDR practitioner with a background in integrative psychotherapy and experience across private practice, the NHS, and corporate settings. My therapeutic style blends the effectiveness of solution-focused interventions with a person-centred and compassionate approach. I have undertaken additional EMDR specialised training, reflecting my commitment to deepening expertise in this field. My core training was in hypnosis and integrative psychotherapy, with an accredited UKCP Advanced Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy.
I use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients resolve a wide range of difficulties. The issues I can assist with draw on my earlier therapeautic work and include working with addictions such as smoking cessation, phobias, weight management, stress and anxiety reduction, self-esteem and confidence issues.
EMDR is particularly helpful when addressing trauma and complex PTSD presentations, areas that I specialise in. This includes sudden and unexpected death or bereavement, pregnancy complications and loss, narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse and violence, rape and sexual assault, childhood neglect and abuse, industrial and road traffic accidents and working with police, fire and paramedics who have been psychologically affected by their work. I am committed to offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their challenges and find new ways forward.
Alongside trauma-focused work, I also offer psychosexual support through EMDR. This approach can be highly effective for sexual dysfunction, intimacy issues, performance anxiety, shame, and trauma-related sexual concerns. Whether difficulties stem from a clear traumatic event or more subtle psychosomatic patterns, EMDR offers a focused and compassionate pathway to reduce distress and support healthier sexual functioning. I draw on current research and clinical experience to tailor integrative treatment plans to each client’s needs.
