Therapy Everyone Can Benefit From

As it is true that people often start therapy in a moment of crisis, it is also true that the potential benefits gained from counselling and therapy are not just for people in life transition or crisis but also for someone who is looking at their own self-realisation and development.

Everyone has a mental health story, their own, that of a friend or a loved one. Everyone can benefit from counselling as each one of us experiences challenges at one point or another.

Starting counselling is not just an investment to deal with trouble. Therapy and coaching are very much something that wise, talented and professional people do.

Many people have experienced the positive impact counselling or therapy can have on their lives. The terms counselling and therapy are often used interchangeably.

Therapy can help you with more immediate problems to hand relating to the present, and therapy works more deeply, particularly if it has to do with things that haven’t been worked through from your past.

It is an opportunity for you to think about and explore your difficulties with a professional person who will help you to make sense of what is troubling you and to find a way forward. Privacy, confidentiality and working collaboratively are of central importance in counselling and therapy.

Therapy Issues Our Counsellors Work With

At Leone Centre, our Counselling sessions can work with but are not limited to:

We are personable and approachable. We maintain transparency and do not believe in professional pretence. Our focus is on working together and facilitating transformation.

The most important agent for change is the relationship between client and therapist; this remains paramount throughout our work.

Our Beliefs

We believe that:

  • Clients themselves are the best experts in their own life, motivation and choices. Our expertise lies in the work.
  • Sustainable and positive change is usually subtle and happens over time.
  • The healthiest people are the ones who connect to support.
  • Pathologising the human condition is not a place we work with.
  • We maintain transparency: there is no magic pill, there is no silver bullet.

We welcome, value and work with people from all backgrounds and experiences and have the utmost regard towards every individual’s identity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, culture, ethnicity and age.

Our Clients

Counselling session

At times we work with people in crisis or people whose lives seem to be going pretty well on the outside – but privately, they’re struggling. At times the source of the hurt is known; other times, it’s waiting to be discovered. Either way, something needs to be addressed to thrive fully.

We also work with clients who are already feeling content and balanced enough and are set on keeping it that way through regular and honest reflection in counselling sessions.

Where To Find Our Counselling Sessions:

Leone Centre can offer counselling sessions in the following locations in London or online:

Counselling & Therapy Online

Many of our clients utilise our online counselling and psychotherapy service. This can be particularly beneficial for practical reasons. There is always the option to use online counselling for flexible working as and when you finish work late, tubes are down or for any other reason.

Online therapy brings with it many benefits though it might be that the counsellor suggests it might be beneficial to work face-to-face, depending on each individual circumstance.

You can organise your counselling appointment for a time that suits you, with associates accessible from early morning until late evening. Book an initial appointment by calling one of our centres on 020 3930 1007 or by completing our online booking form on our website today.

Counselling FAQs

How do I choose the right therapist?

The first step in choosing the right therapist for you is ensuring the therapist is a fully qualified professional. Leone Centre therapists have years of experience, and all of our therapists are BACP or UKCP; many also have COSRT and AFT members registered.

Session types: Online, couples, individual, relationship, or family therapy sessions.

Examples of specific areas are relationships, marriage, divorce, psychosexual, addiction, depression and anxiety, fertility, bereavement, PTSD past trauma and LGBTQI+ counselling and therapy.

Therapeutic approaches: All therapists at Leone Centre use an Integrative approach, taking into account and focusing on you as a unique individual, couple and family with unique circumstances. We apply different approaches to help you in your healing and therapeutic process.

Some of the approaches and specialisms are Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Systemic, Transpersonal, Mindfulness, Psychosexual, CBT, EMDR, and Myers Briggs personality test.

Therapists at Leone Centre are experienced, hand-selected, and have additional specialist training.

Is CBT better than other therapy approaches?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a structured talking therapy intended to help manage issues and resolve problems by focusing on the interrelation between thinking, feeling, beliefs and behaviour.

No therapy approach is better than another and depends purely on the clients’ issues, preferences, and finding an approach that works for them. The relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process.

At Leone Centre, CBT can often be combined with an integrative approach. However, if you are looking for a purely CBT-focused approach, Leone Centre Therapists can help.

How do I know if I need counselling?

Counselling can be a significant and life-changing choice when trying to overcome issues that have affected you over some time, started impacting your work and relationships, and interfered with your everyday life. Finding a way ahead can often feel overwhelming.

The first step towards change is the most difficult and important. Are you ready to reach out? One question one can ask themselves when considering counselling is – Do I feel you need and want it? – Am I prepared to offer myself the time and commitment that the process of change requires?

You might want to consider counselling if you have been struggling with your relationships, anxiety and mental health in general and find that issues from your past are impacting you.

As a couple, you might seek help with recurrent conflict, issues in communication, infidelity, transitioning from a couple to parents, separating, blended families etc. Experienced therapists also offer counselling for families and for people experiencing psychosexual issues.

Can I book a counselling session for my partner?

Whilst people can feel that booking a counselling session on another person’s behalf will be helpful and encourage positive change, it has to be wanted by the clients themselves.

We suggest encouraging your loved ones and people you care for to book their initial session themselves or take the first steps to make a call with us to find out what the sessions entail and if therapy is the right path for them at this time.

We are always available to answer any question or to point you in the direction of the therapist we feel might be more suitable to assist.
