I’ve supported numerous people as dual-trained individual, couples and psychosexual therapist, with over 15 years of experience working in various medical settings. I’m a Member of Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (IPM), a qualified COSRT member and a BACP member.
Working with individuals and couples, I take a holistic approach. Both medical and psychological knowledge influences my approach. I enjoy working with people and supporting them around some of life’s most challenging circumstances.
I received my counselling training at the esteemed University of Central Lancashire. My qualifications include a postgraduate diploma in psychosexual therapy.
As well as counselling privately, I’ve worked in the NHS and private health care, specialising in supporting people with long-term health conditions and the impact on sexual function and wellbeing (for example, people affected by cancer, physical disabilities, and menopause). In my practice, I use a diverse range of tools, including psychodynamic, psychoanalytical and behavioural approaches.
I’m here to help people and provide support and guidance with the following issues:
• Relationships
• Communication
• Wellbeing and mental health issues
• Physical health issues
• Long-term health conditions
• Sexual intimacy
• The impact of cancer treatment on sexual functioning
• People affected by cancer
• Disabilities
• Menopause
During my time as a clinical nurse specialist, I established and led a sexual health and rehabilitation clinic for patients whose sexual function had been affected by cancer treatment. I’ve authored posters and publications, including the highly acclaimed International Journal of Gynaecological Cancer.
I have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge supporting people who have a long-term illness or have been affected by cancer and those with a broad range of relationship and psychosexual concerns.
When I’m not working, I’m very active. I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, running, and being in the countryside. I’ve also taken part in marathons and triathlons.
