  • Reflecting upon the pressure that Covid and lockdown have added to your relationship

Relationship is Everything Everything is Relationship

In modern life, relationships are becoming more complex than ever, and how we relate with one another is also changing. Feeling loved and a sense of belonging with someone has also to include being known by them, rather than hiding our true selves for fear that we must sacrifice who we are to be loved.

How you relate to yourself impacts how you relate to your partner

We want to find belonging; we want to feel content and secure and share our vulnerabilities with the people we trust. We find it in moments when we feel we are enough and there is nothing more we need.

We also come to this world with a desire for novelty, adventure and recklessness. We go out and discover the unknown, and we take risks to feel excited and alive.

Holding these two polarities, as well as balancing closeness and space, love and desire, known and elusive, is what makes relationships thrive.

How can Leone Centre help you in your relationships

The Leone Centre therapists facilitate a process via relationship counselling online or in person so that your relationship can move towards a more alive, supportive and healthier landscape. Counselling provides the foundations for long-term positive change.

Our counselling services in London are available for every couple and individual who is struggling with an important relationship. We work to facilitate honest and open communication and conversations, firstly with yourself and then between partners.

Our Counsellors at Leone Centre can help with issues like lack of passion, conflict, infidelity, betrayal, communication, bereavement and other natural stresses and strains over time. Our counselling sessions in London or online help to explore the root causes and dynamics when your relationships are breaking down or unfulfilling and also have a teaching and learning function.

Counselling, whether you are in a rocky relationship, repeating the same patterns in each relationship, experiencing challenges in a marriage or needing support throughout a divorce, can help you reach a more positive, fulfilling and respectful relationship.

It is also true that, in some cases, it is the end of the road and time to take separate paths. In this instance, counselling will help you in determining your future path, separation and divorce. This can help to separate consciously, ensuring a better and respectful outcome for yourselves, as well as any children or shared loved ones and friends you may have.

What Is Relationship Counselling?

Relationship Counselling: Silhouetted couple back to back

Relationship counselling is a form of psychotherapy designed to help couples recognise and explore problems within a supportive and professional environment. Counselling will help you to understand better your conflicts and challenges and where they originated.

In modern society, relationships that appear to be struggling or that require intervention or counselling might be perceived as a failure.

There is an established perspective that by asking for help, the relationship is already over. We know this isn’t the case. When working with a qualified therapist or counsellor, couples can explore the root causes or catalysts leading to the challenges in their relationship within a safe and supportive space.

Continuous conflict or concern within a relationship has the potential to affect the emotional well-being and self-esteem of both parties. Our counselling services provide you with the appropriate tools and resources to alleviate the stress and challenges you will face throughout a relationship.

Strain can often be caused by unknown or obscure sources or by known traumas and experiences, including fertility concerns or losing a loved one.

Our comprehensive and adaptive approach will help you to understand and re-establish the foundations of a relationship whilst deciding upon the best route forward for everyone involved. We will help you to connect triggers, thoughts and feelings that might be out of sync or that haven’t been communicated previously.

LGBTQI+ Counselling

At Leone Centre our therapists can work with you to support you in achieving your goals, no matter what your sexual orientation or gender. Relationship Counselling Sessions

All of our sessions are collaborative and engaging. We have active and explorative therapies to help you understand your relationship better.

As part of the relationship counselling Fulham process, we may also suggest that you undertake an MBTI personality test to build up an understanding of your differing personality types. With a simple questionnaire, we can determine your proposed personality type, enabling you and your partner to appreciate and understand your differences.

Counselling with Leone Centre can help address issues such as:

  • Stress
  • Infidelity
  • Jealousy
  • Grief
  • Confidence
  • Co-dependency
  • Self Esteem
  • Depression
  • Fertility
  • Bereavement
  • ME and Chronic Fatigue

Our associates have experience and training in working with couples on several issues from all walks of life. Our relationship therapists have experience in working with couples who are dating, cohabiting, engaged, married or considering separation or divorce, as well as LGBTQ+ couples, civil partnerships and co-parenting situations.

What Is Individual Relationship Counselling?

We also work with individuals who attend therapy without their partners. At times, one partner may be reluctant to undergo counselling of any form. In these cases, we can provide the support and tools needed to address any issues surrounding a relationship on an individual basis.

Anxiety, stress and depression can develop as a result of relationship difficulties, as well as low confidence or self-esteem in cases of adultery or infidelity. Low self-esteem or self-confidence concerns can affect how you relate and interact with your partner. Individual relationship counselling provides you with the opportunity to understand your behaviour within your relationships.
